Sunshine Coast - Queensland

6 March 2013 This day seems to be mostly about food. Lee and Yumi and I headed off to Noosa Beach on the Sunshine Coast for a day trip. We left Brisbane in pouring rain and returned in pouring rain but the Sunshine Coast lived up to its name - at least for some of the time. Anyway, it was the most sunshine we've seen for quite a time. It was a nice leisurely trip up and we stopped off at the famous Ettamogah Pub for a pit stop.

Then it was off to Noosa Beach - lovely spot and the sun started to shine through. Although it was a week day and the weather wasn't that great there were a lot of people in the water and on the beach.

The Life Savers on the beach weren't the most beautiful so Yumi was happy to meet this dude in the surf club but he didn't have much to say for himself. The strong silent type I guess.

We went to the Surf club for lunch and my fish and chips were a delight. Probably should have had the healthy option but WTF....it looked too good.

Yumbo!!
Never have I been to Noosa without indulging in a Copenhagen Ice Cream - have been known to drive two hours for a stroll down Hastings Street with an enormous ice cream stuck to my face.

So damn good!
We headed back to Brisbane through beautiful Maroochydore and Mooloolaba.  There was a delay in Mooloolaba as traffic lights weren't working and the Police were directing traffic. I lost the plot a bit direction wise and did a few circles before we got on the right road out of town. Sadly we found out the problem was because a 46 year old woman was killed in a traffic accident. So sad.

Returning to Brisbane meant returning to the rain - Yumi and Lee snoozing in the car. This was Yumi's last day in Oz as she was off to New Zealand next and she cooked us a most amazing Korean dinner. Everything was just so scrumptious. We all ate too much but it was too good to stop.

The round trip was about 300 kms
